Virtual expo

In 2016, an exhibition was put together with a selection of more than 800 submitted cartoons from all over the world. This exhibition was called ‘You, the West and the Middle East’. It turned out to be a surprising and confrontational exhibition about the way in which Western cartoonists and cartoonists from the Middle East looked at each other’s world. What you can see here is a slimmed-down version.

Reflections of Actuality and Expressions of Hope

At the same time, it is a stepping stone to a second edition.
In a world marked by conflicts and uncertainties, this next edition (May 2025) “Cartoons as Mirrors of Current Affairs” will give a unique platform to creative expression and social reflection.

This project invites cartoonists from all over the world to share their perspectives on war and peace. The emphasis is on solidarity and hope, and on questioning established values. Faced with the ongoing crises in the Middle East, Ukraine, and elsewhere, HUMORratata strives to show stories of solidarity and hope.

With a new selection of cartoons from all over the world, the initiators want to build a bridge between diverse cultures and regions. From that unique attitude of ‘our’ common humanity, which connects us all.
Enjoy these cartoons, and share your thoughts on the approach of these cartoonists!
